Small Porch Fall Decor
Decorating a porch can be scary!! It’s even scarier to decorate a small back porch. The idea of making a small space seem grand can be overwhelming.
But! Don’t despair! You don’t have to do a big display for a large impact!!! I made this EASY DIY sign and I think it speaks for itself!!
This sign is so easy you won’t even need your husband to help!!! This sign comes in a DIY kit from Little Big Things. You can find it HERE for 30% OFF !! Use code: SHILOH30. All you have to do is buy the 1×12 board. I found mine, already cut to size, at Home Depot.
I started off by sanding the edges of my board. This is not necessary but I like the look of the more polished edges. Next, I painted my 1×12 in my signature paint style. You can find that HERE!! While the paint is drying take the letters from your DIY KIT and stain them. The edges of the letters are already sanded when you get them in your kit.
Now that everything is drying let’s work on the “O” (or wreath). The kit comes with the wreath so you can leave that plain or add some faux florals to it!!
It’s time to assemble the sign! NO HUSBAND REQUIRED!! All you have to do is use Liquid Nails! I roughed up the back of the letters so that the Liquid Nails would adhere better. I used Super Glue for the smaller letters and I screwed in my wreath (because the wind on the farm can be intense) but you could easily attach this with a hot glue gun.
Want to know the best part!? This sign can be easily switched up to any holiday! Simply replace the florals on the wreath with something seasonal. You can also switch it up and stain the board and paint the letters.
The sign is our main focus but now we need to add some fillers to our porch to cozy it up!! Cornstalks are one of my favorite ways to add height and texture to a porch! They make a great backdrop! Next, add a few pumpkins. You don’t have to have a lot for a small porch to achieve maximum impact!! Finally, I placed a mum in a small orchard basket for a fun Fall touch!!
I have a SAVED STORY HIGHLIGHTS VIDEO of me working on this project on my Instagram page. You can find that HERE!!!

I love this!! I’m gonna be honest, I struggle with my front porch because it’s small. Thanks for sharing your porch and giving me a little extra encouragement not to give up because it’s scary!!
