Easy Tips For A Subtle Vintage Valentine’s
I don’t think any holiday takes as much flack as Valentine’s Day. I know lots of people who just don’t like the commercialization of it all, and the way that it is sandwiched in between New Year’s and Easter can make it hard to decorate for. However, if you know me, you know I always look for any reason to 1) decorate and 2) celebrate those I love! But I do understand those who have woes about the holiday. Especially when it comes to decorating for it! However, I have a couple of tips that I think even the Valentine-Weary Decorator will enjoy ๐
Easy Tips for a Subtle Vintage Valentine
1. Use Antique “red” pieces to add a touch of Valentine’s Day.
You don’t have to buy anything! Much like in my Fourth of July Decorating Tips, I just use a little more of the stuff that I already have. This can even be red tea towels, baskets or buckets! Anything red will do:)
2. Go through your collections!
If you’re like me, you collect odds and ends. I collect vintage cookie cutters and discovered that I had a bunch of old heart shaped cookie cutters and molds! They add that perfect subtle touch:)
4. Use “sweet” wording on aprons, pillows or signs!
You can now find these adorable sayings any time of year, and they add that very subtle bit of cuteness that is perfect for Valentine’s Day!
5. Candles and spring flowers add that perfect romantic touch!
We all know that candles and flowers set a romantic mood! Add some red and white tulips for that extra “Valentine’s” touch!
6. Repurpose your old valentines!
I LOVE old valentines!! Have you ever seen a real vintage Valentine? They are ADORABLE!! And can be used to add the perfect mix of quirky vintage and cuteness!
And that’s it! Six easy tips for even the most Valentine’s Day weary decorators! I hope this eases some of the stress of decorating for this small holiday and gives you more time to actually focus on the important part — celebrating those you love:)

Such a great post with easy ideas. I need to find more heart shaped cookie cutters for my collection. And I wish I had kept my old Valentineโs from school days. Dang it! I didnโt realize when I was young and incredibly unsentimental that Iโd regret it later.

Such great ideas!!! Most ideas I see seem like a gross Valentine explosion to me. Itโs just too much. Iโm staying in today to see if I can find a few subtle things I have stashed and change my decor up a little. Thank you!
