Christmas in July DIY!!!

Hello!! Welcome to the Christmas Blog Hop! If you came here from Country Road 407 then WELCOME!!! I hope you enjoy this little DIY!!

Anybody else a little over these hot summer temperatures and wishing for the colder days? Me too!!! As I was sweating over my garden the other day and wishing I wasn’t sweating so much, I thought “why not do a Christmas in July?!” So here is a cute little Christmas in July DIY to hopefully our minds off of this hot weather and transport us to the most wonderful time of the year:) I also did a Christmas in July post around this time last year if you wanna check it out!

Supplies:

  • 1- 1×4 board
  • 1 – pkg eyelet hooks
  • 1- pkg 3″ farmhouse style mailbox stickers
    • If you have a cricket, you could also use that to create these letters.
  • 1- small can of black paint
  • 1- sponge paintbrush
    • Size up to you:)
  • 4 ft of bailing wire

I’ve shared another sign that’s similar to this on the blog before. It was a fall sign that you can check it out here. This time I did it a little differently though. Instead of distressing a new board, I used a white chippy board that I already had lying around. So this thankfully took out a few of the first steps!:)

Step 1:

  • Find your board and cut it to size. I cut mine about 14″ long.

Step 2:

  • Cut out the letters from the farmhouse stickers so that the actual letters are left hollow as pictured above. This turns them into more of a stencil. Place your new stencils on your boards.

Step 3:

  • Using a sponge paintbrush and black paint (or whatever color you chose), stencil your new letters on your boards!

Step 4:

  • Once that’s dry, screw the eyelet hooks into the top and bottom of each board about 1″ from each end of each board
  • There are 4 eyelets on the top 2 boards. Two on the top and two on the bottom. Then there are only 2 on the top of the bottom board.

Step 5:

  • Cut your bailing wire in half
  • Take one 2 ft strip of wire and cut it into 4 4″ strips
  • Attach those 4″ strips to the bottom and middle boards
  • Attach the remaining 2 ft strip to the top board and bend it into a semi circle
    • If you would not like your sign to hang very low, you can always trim this piece

Step 6:

  • Hang your new beautiful Christmas in July DIY for the world to see!!!:)

I hope you liked this DIY and that it took your mind off of the summer heat for a little while:) I’ll have lots more DIYs to get you through these hot days soon, but for now go check out the other DIYs, like this DIY tabletop s’mores station, or recipes like my No Bake Strawberry Pie that’s always a hit this time of year! ๐Ÿ™‚
