And Heaven & Nature Sing
Let every heart prepare him room and heaven and nature sing…..
When you ask someone about their Christmas decor it evokes a lot of emotions and feelings. There are a lot of traditions in Christmas decor. What does Christmas mean to you when it comes to your decor? Are you all things plaid? Do you have to use red? Maybe you like a nostalgic look?
The past few years my home has been decorated top to bottom in plaid! Think cozy cabin Christmas!! I have a huge collection of plaid Thermoses that I love to bring out as well! You can see my cozy cabin decor HERE!!
This year I had a tug at my heartstrings to decorate my room in a quieter more neutral look. I wanted to use nature as my muse. The song “Joy to the World” kept swimming around in my head. The world has been so crazy the last few years. The line “And heaven and nature sing” was really speaking to me.
I set out to design our room, and of course, THE COUNTRY DOOR was the first place I turned to. They made my FALL BEDROOM look amazing!! So I knew they would have the perfect pieces I needed to make my vision come to life.
I kept our bedding neutral and added this beautiful HOLIDAY SENTIMENTS QUILT from THE COUNTRY DOOR, across the foot of our bed. Believe, Hope, Love, Silent Night….were the perfect sentiments.
I wanted to use a lot of nature inspired pieces in this space. The BRONZE DEER with wreaths, from THE COUNTRY DOOR, look wonderful on the night stand. They would also look great on a shelf or mantel.
I used vintage pottery jugs, with faux winter stems stuck into them, on top of my antique wardrobe. On the shelves I used creamy colored bottle brush trees.
The glow of a Christmas tree is one of my favorite things about Christmas. I wanted to add a full size tree to our bedroom so I could enjoy the cozy feeling in the evenings when we laid down.
I’ve decorated this tree with old world Santas, deer, owls, pine cones, poinsettia and antlers. I’ve even clipped on these beautiful BATTERY OPERATED CANDLES from THE COUNTRY DOOR. These candles are adjustable, so they always lay perfectly. They would look fabulous on a tree by themselves, or across a mantel, clipped to some greenery.
I also placed this vintage inspired punched tin lantern into the middle of a real wreath. I placed them both on top of a barn wood tray that I have turned upside down.
The mantel is decorated with a mixed faux pine and eucalyptus greenery, wool ball garland, and some tiny brass bells I strung onto twine.
So remember, the world around us may be hectic, but our decor can bring us a feeling of peace. A safe place to lay our heads at night. A little bit of joy. A little bit of hope. And, after all, isn’t that what Christmas is all about?:)
