Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Do you have that one recipe that you’re known for? That one thing that everyone asks you to make? For me, that would be these cookies. My family, specifically my husband, LOVES these cookies!!! They never tire of asking for them, and now that the kids are older, never tire of making them with me:) So today, I wanted to share with you my recipe for the chewiest chocolate crinkle cookies!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (we like to use the dark chocolate in our house)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
I love being able to use the eggs from my farm in all my cooking and baking!:)

Instructions:

  1. Combine cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Place butter, sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time and mix on medium-low speed just until combined.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix on low speed until incorporated.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the dough for at least 1 hour or up to overnight (the longer you chill, the thicker the cookies will be!)
  5. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 F. Place the powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Take 1 mounded tbsp of cookie mixture. Roll the dough into loose balls and dip into the powdered sugar. Covering completely.
  6. Place on a lined baking sheet with enough space between them (bake in batches) and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until spread and crackled. Cookies will still be soft, so let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  7. Enjoy!!!:)
As you can see, I think Jillian likes baking with me;)

And that’s all it takes! Jillian is my 11 year old stepdaughter, and if she can make them and make them turn out delicious, then I think you can, too;)

As I said before, this is my family’s favorite. I love making food for them and having them all in the kitchen, but I really love that they’re now old enough to make them with me, like Jillian did here. After you make these chocolate crinkle cookies ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), I would love to hear what your go to crowd pleaser recipe is!!:)
