Rustic Ski Lodge Christmas Patio Decor

I’ve been waiting over 20 years for this moment!!

I have always wanted to decorate my patio doors!! Unfortunately, I’ve had ugly sliding glass doors for over 20 years!!! Not only were they ugly but they didn’t even work properly!! Opening the door was a nightmare!!

I am excited to share today the reveal of my new french doors all decked out for Christmas; complete with gorgeous new Bravura 970 handle in oil-rubbed dark bronze from Delaney Hardware!! This hardware is so gorgeous it makes these plain french doors POP!!

The first thing I wanted to do was add some fresh green garland around the doors!! Then, to match the inside of my home, I chose a rustic ski lodge theme!!

When I think of Ski Lodge I think of sleds, plaids, old lanterns, rustic wood and lots of greenery!! So I headed out to the barn to see what I had on hand.

I found half of an old apple ladder, a vintage crate, a wooden fruit basket, a rusty old lantern, and a Reindeer Feed galvanized bucket. Next, we need to soften up the buckets and wood with plants!! For Christmas I love to add lots of greenery, red berries and poinsettias.

You can’t decorate a ski lodge patio without a sled!!! I added a plaid scarf to the sled to carry the plaid across the patio from the ladder. In front of the sled I chose to set an old chippy black painted chair. The black plays nicely off of the black iron Choate sign, the black wording on the Reindeer Feed bucket, goose neck light and new Delaney Hardware handle.

It’s time to add a final layer of softness. Every new door needs a mat!! I layered a plaid fringed mat with a SLEIGH ALL DAY coir mat.

I decided to add one last thing to my patio!! It needed a homemade hinged TREE FARM sign!! You can find my video of how I made it HERE!!!
