FUNCTIONAL AND FESTIVE 🎀 This is your sign.....to make a ribbon cabinet for the holidays!! 🎀🎀🎀 This is a great way to make a beautiful display out of all of the little bits and bobs of random ribbon you have laying around. ☺️ Find a small cabinet (or set of shelves) and start filling it with stacks of ribbon, throw in some nostalgic ribbon for the cool advertising, add in some pretty ribbon holders and tiny ornate scissors. I HAVE A "SWEET TOOTH" FOR VINTAGE 🤶 I'm a day I HAVE A "SWEET TOOTH" FOR VINTAGE 🤶 I'm a day late for the #perfectlyimperfectprims BAKING CHALLENGE but I wanted to share anyway!!! 🥰 I absolutely love vintage baking decor! Basically anything "vintage kitchen" makes my heart happy!! ❤️ Yesterday I shared my CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR (you can still watch it in my saved highlights). Basically my entire kitchen has a vintage baking theme at the moment. Vintage cookie cutters, primitive gingerbread men, old hand-written recipes cards, rusty red and green spice cans..... My phone was starting to die and I had an appointment so I feel like my kitchen sink area was overlooked a little. So, I thought I'd share this fun little baking inspired vignette with you today. ❤️ The old recipe cards are a treasured find from @vintage.on.cora . I used Christmas colored baker's twine to attach them to a small cutting board. I've had the old gingerbread man cookie cutter forever! I don't even remember where I found that but he's always been my favorite! I love his shape! Plus, he's huge!! I used this cookie cutter to make salt dough ornaments a few posts back!! I love these milk jar inspired candles from @milkbarncandles This one is called Once Upon A Time Gingerbread. All of our homes have a slightly different style and that's why I love this motley crew of decor friends. I have many people that come into my work and innocently ask this question. Nice people trying to make innocent conversation. But what if someone isn't feeling ready??? What if someone hasn't decorated for Christmas yet? Do you know what happens if you don't decorate??? NOTHING. 🤍 Tomorrow we are doing Christmas home tours. I'm excited to share our home but I also realize that Christmas can be hard for so many people. Maybe you are struggling financially? Maybe you lost someone special in your life? Maybe you are struggling with a health issue or worried about someone else who's struggling? Maybe you just can't find Joy this year..... DID YOU KNOW that Christmas will still come even if you don't have the latest decor, even if you don't put up a tree, even if you can't find the latest gizmo or gadget, even if you can't find the perfect holiday party outfit to wear, or if you don't bake a single Christmas treat!? FUNCTIONAL AND COZY 🤗 We have five older child FUNCTIONAL AND COZY 🤗 We have five older children. During the holidays it starts to get a little crowded in this small house. We are forever and always looking for Emergency Space inside of our home.😆 This Thanksgiving was no exception. We only have 1 spare guest room plus an office. The office has my desk plus my husband's desk and gaming system in it. We set out to find a piece of affordable furniture that could be both functional and cozy. Give me anything old and I'm pretty happy. However, I do have a lot of vintage and antique items. Do you have a vintage enthusiast that you need to buy a Christmas gift for!? Someone that you are positive already has everything!?? I have the PERFECT GIFT IDEA!! 🤗 This gorgeous coat was handmade by Heather @blackberry_and_sage . It's made from an 1886 Feathered Star Quilt. Heather is beyond talented!! She makes CUSTOM COATS!! Heather asks lots of questions to get the perfect measurements and size to make you your special coat. 💙 Feathered Star quilts were popular in the Midwest in the late 1800's. They were usually made out of only 2 colors. It is said that quilters would only make them after they had developed their skills. Therefore the quilts were quite precious to the quilters and have been preserved nicely. In the pocket of this coat Heather has placed the piece of the quilt that has the stitched date 1886 on it. I like to think that whoever made this quilt would be so honored for it to have now been made into something else. They were usually made out of only 2 colors. It is said that quilters would only make them after they had developed their skills. Therefore the quilts were quite precious to the quilters and have been preserved nicely. In the pocket of this coat Heather has placed the piece of the quilt that has the stitched date 1886 on it. I like to think that whoever made this quilt would be so honored for it to have now been made into something else.
