FUNCTIONAL AND COZY 🤗 We have five older child FUNCTIONAL AND COZY 🤗 We have five older children. During the holidays it starts to get a little crowded in this small house. We are forever and always looking for Emergency Space inside of our home.😆 This Thanksgiving was no exception. We only have 1 spare guest room plus an office. The office has my desk plus my husband's desk and gaming system in it. We set out to find a piece of affordable furniture that could be both functional and cozy. That's when we found this pull-out sofa chair from @hernest_official. This cozy chair was the perfect size! Give me anything old and I'm pretty happy. However, I do have a lot of vintage and antique items. Do you have a vintage enthusiast that you need to buy a Christmas gift for!? Someone that you are positive already has everything!?? I have the PERFECT GIFT IDEA!! 🤗 This gorgeous coat was handmade by Heather @blackberry_and_sage . It's made from an 1886 Feathered Star Quilt. Heather is beyond talented!! She makes CUSTOM COATS!! Heather asks lots of questions to get the perfect measurements and size to make you your special coat. 💙 Feathered Star quilts were popular in the Midwest in the late 1800's. They were usually made out of only 2 colors. It is said that quilters would only make them after they had developed their skills. Therefore the quilts were quite precious to the quilters and have been preserved nicely. In the pocket of this coat Heather has placed the piece of the quilt that has the stitched date 1886 on it. I like to think that whoever made this quilt would be so honored for it to have now been made into something else. START YOUR ADVENT CALENDAR 🕯️ I don't want t START YOUR ADVENT CALENDAR 🕯️ I don't want to alarm anyone but it's December 1st!! There are only 4 Sundays (including this one) until Christmas!!!! It's right.....I've checked!! 😆 I feel like that escalated very quickly!!!!! 😅 I know that it seems almost impossible to get all of the things done before Christmas. There are presents to buy, parties to attend, cards to write, things to wrap, things to bake, and gifts to make. My wish for each of you is that you enjoy the season no matter how much pressure you feel. ❤️ Take time to stop and enjoy Christmas. See a light parade, go to a winter botanical garden (that's my favorite Christmas activity), enjoy the process of baking your family's favorite Christmas treats, make a thoughtful gift for someone special, give to a needy family or visit a live nativity scene. These things are the things that will bring you much joy and lasting memories. 🤗 This year I wanted to tuck vintage inspired Christmas postcards into all of my special gifts. I found some super cute and very inexpensive ones on Temu. They are even cute enough to use for Christmas decor. You can frame them, use them as a garland, prop them up in a vintage flower frog, tuck them into some greenery or even make ornaments out of them!! You can see I have some of them propped in my antique letter divider (on the top shelf). My sweet friend Amy @myrustichouse gifted that to me. 🤗 I thought it would be fun to give the office some Christmas cheer!! COUNTING MY BLESSINGS ❤️🌿 My favorite part COUNTING MY BLESSINGS ❤️🌿 My favorite part of the holidays are when the kids come home. ❤️ We have had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Not all of our kids were able to make it to Thanksgiving this year but we did have 3 of the 5!! (Plus 2 significant others) 😄 I know that people will say that they miss their kids being little and that it all slips away too fast....and it does. But grown children are so fun! When they come home it's such a joy to see them. You can sit and talk, laugh and share stories. It seems more laid back and not as rushed as when they are small. They also seem to appreciate you more when they are adults. 🤣 I also love that I still have my parents home to go to. My Mom still makes the Thanksgiving dinner and we all gather back around the table again the next day for, what I like to call, Black Friday Lunch!! 😀🙌 Does anyone celebrate Black Friday lunch with all of the fabulous Thanksgiving leftovers??? 🤤 As they say "Backdoor Guests are the Best" so here is a glimpse into my laundry room/mudroom entryway. The wreath and the little candy cane ornaments are new from my @w.s.mercantile home subscription box, the lantern is a gorgeous piece from @theuniqueblacksheep, the vintage spindles star is handmade from my friend @dreamsofaprimitivelife. The quilt, sign and sock stretcher are all vintage finds. The little tree is a tree from @target a few years back. The old red socks are from Arnett's country store years ago!! 👉Funny story: I used to hang this vintage OPEN sign outside at Christmas but my husband was always worried people would stop to try to buy stuff because they have before. 😂

This hutch is a perfect example because it has a little bit of all of the maximizing tricks!! I've stacked plates to give my bowls height. I've layered plates to give dimension. I've filled bowls with Santa mugs and stacked Santa mugs on top of each other to make room. Although I really loved it out there I sure did miss seeing it HERE!!! Also, my coworker threatened to steal them off of my front porch. 🤣😆 I look for Thermoses all year long. INSTANT COZINESS ❤️🌿 I love a good unexpec INSTANT COZINESS ❤️🌿 I love a good unexpected cozy moment. 🤗 Hanging cozy blankets on a peg rack is one of my favorite ways to add color, texture and coziness to a wall. Doing plaid ?? Add a collection of different colored plaid blankets to a wall! Doing rustic neutral Nordic winter? Add fuzzy white, brown and animal print blankets!! ❤️ Any little space will do! This 4 peg rack is hiding my thermostat and sits between the guest bathroom and guest bedroom. I think the smallest spaces can make the biggest impact!! 🙌 I changed out the decor in the little cabinet to my all white antique Santa mugs and pitchers collection. I added the most charming little antique rusty white truck with wooden wheels to the top. I popped in a few bottle brush trees, a little flickering taper candle and a small pinecone candle ring that I used as a little wreath. INSTANT COZINESS ❤️🌿 I love a good unexpec INSTANT COZINESS ❤️🌿 I love a good unexpected cozy moment. 🤗 Hanging cozy blankets on a peg rack is one of my favorite ways to add color, texture and coziness to a wall. Doing plaid ?? Add a collection of different colored plaid blankets to a wall! Doing rustic neutral Nordic winter? Add fuzzy white, brown and animal print blankets!! ❤️ Any little space will do! This 4 peg rack is hiding my thermostat and sits between the guest bathroom and guest bedroom. I think the smallest spaces can make the biggest impact!! 🙌 I changed out the decor in the little cabinet to my all white antique Santa mugs and pitchers collection. I added the most charming little antique rusty white truck with wooden wheels to the top. I popped in a few bottle brush trees, a little flickering taper candle and a small pinecone candle ring that I used as a little wreath.
